The adventure begins with a morning departure from M’hamid around 9:00 a.m., accompanied by camels, the camel driver, and your local guide. The caravan sets out across the desert, stopping for lunch in the shade of palm trees. After a short rest, the trek continues for another two hours until reaching Elbour, where camp is set up among palm groves and tamarisk trees. As the sun sets, the golden light creates a magical atmosphere to end the first day.
After breakfast in the silence of the desert, camp is packed and the camels are loaded to begin a new day’s trek. The caravan walks toward Oued Naam, where lunch is enjoyed at midday. In the afternoon, the journey continues toward the dunes of Erg Bertham, where the evening bivouac is prepared. As the sun sets over the sand dunes, you may also try a short camel ride before dinner. The night is spent in tents or beneath the star-filled desert sky.
On the final morning, after breakfast, the group begins the walk back toward Mezouaria, where lunch is served near the small dunes. After a short rest, the trek continues gently back to M’hamid, arriving in the afternoon at the fixed bivouac. Here, a shower and a well-deserved rest await, followed by a convivial evening meal and an overnight stay in the comfort of the desert camp.
